The Living Room Tour - Day 12 - Atlanta
My buddy Austin is the master mind behind the band Swimming With Dolphins. He’s recording a new record for Tooth & Nail right now at a studio outside of Atlanta. I stopped by to see how the songs were coming along and visit with Austin. Matt and Kenneth have a radical studio in this house out in the country with a wooded back yard. It reminded of Dark Horse in the sense that I was...

The Living Room Tour - Day 11 - Cleveland
I slept like a baby at The Baysinger’s house. They had a huge bed in their guest room and I embraced a real night’s rest. Mark Townsend lives in Spring Hill so I stopped by the studio at his house and caught up with his world. He played some mixes from the new Run Kid Run record he worked on this summer, the songs sounded fantastic. Mark has been in the business for a long time and he always has...

The Living Room Tour - Day 10 - Nashville
The only off days on this tour came back to back this weekend. Then the show in Lafayette cancelled last minute and I ended up with three days off in a row. I made the lengthy drive from Austin to New Orleans to see some friends of AK. Angela and Caitlin and my new buddy Jake made sure I was fed and put up with my pathetic tired self. I caught up on The Walking Dead, got a great night’s rest...

The Living Room Tour - Day 6 - Austin
My mom’s parents live in Waco and even though they are both in their seventies they have a busy schedule. The only time we could meet was at 7:00 AM at Cracker Barrel this morning. I didn’t exactly go to bed early the night before but I pulled myself together for an hour or so. My grandparents seem semi-supportive of my job in the music world, but I don’t think they really get it...

The Living Room Tour - Day 5 - Waco
I crashed at Steven’s house after the Arlington shows. He worked really early at Starbucks so I slept in until 11am which was just what I needed. We met up for lunch at a middle eastern restaurant and my taste buds were introduced to some new combinations of flavors. Steven has been to a lot of the countries I want to visit already, he had some cool stories from his travels in the middle...
